after market compression rod alternative

with the number of people having to replace the compression rods on their car, i was wondering if anyone has come out with a better replacement part? any aftermarket items out there yet? or do we know if infiniti has created a better replacement?

i am planning to have my '05 sedan in for a 22k oil change, and will be asking the dealer to look at my compression rods, because i too suffer from the squeaking/groaning front end noise that many have had on their cars. i thought if there was a better fix for it, other than factory parts, i would have the dealer install it.

also, does anyone know if the rods can affect the feel of the steering? mine seems llike it has loosened up since new, and i saw someone mention that after having new parts put in, their car felt tighter, and a steering wheel shake they had at highway speed, went away. could this be fact or just psychological?

If it's just new bushings, I assume they can be easily made in urethane or whatnot. As long as the shape isn't terribly complicated.
