5AT G's - Experience thump when shifting?

I tried searching and didn't really come across anything, specifically for the 06's.
When running the car hard and shifting up (especially to third gear), I sometimes get a short-solid-quick thump in the back, any ideas?
It doesn't feel like a problem but I'd like to know what's happening down there...
It's not lag as shifting takes place at the exact moment...
It's not a feeling of the engine over reving and then the transmission getting into gear either...
Thanks in advance.

I get that too.
I don't really think about it. I have on 04
I could'nt really find anyone that had that until you.
I have already asked the dealer number of times and they say that there is nothing wrong with it.

when you beat on the car especially in manumatic mode 2nd to 3rd gear you'll really feel the rear differential lock in-- that is the thump. evo's, sti's have the same locking rear

normal. there are quite many threads discussing this. most people find that the manual mode shifts firmer and quite a few get that 2-3 thump. if you shift around 4k, it goes away for me.

FWIW.. my experiene with the MM >

You will get this thump if you back off the throttle while it shifts.

eg. If you're comming up to your desired speed & you start to back off (even slightly)
and you shift up.... it gives a thump.

In this situation you are fooling the electronics by giving a mixed message.
Up shifting and backing off.

I get MUCH smoother shifts if I am still slightly accelerating as I go into the next gear......
then start to back off after the shift.

Yeah, several threads on this. I've had the dealer ride with me and all they offer is to reset the ecu. My car's a lease and I'm out of it before the warranty expires. I've got my observations about the transmission on record at the dealership, and they had no remedy. So if it fails I shouldn't have any trouble getting the warranty to cover it.

My only concnern is sometimes i feel a tiny shudder during 2->3 shift in full auto mode. Especially if i'm adding throttle during the shift. I think this 2->3 shift is a defect in the design, but obviously not enough for Infiniti to develop a fix.

Wow...I am experiencing the same exact issue and was concerned but at the same time confused since it only happens in manual mode. I noticed that when I shift below approx. 2500-3K rpms, it shifts smoother than above. I find it odd, yet comforting that others are experiencing in the 2nd to 3rd gear shift in manual mode. Any other input on why this may be happening and whether it truly isn't harming the transmission?

Could you paste some of the other threads addressing this issue?

I haven't experienced it myself, but I keep it in D and don't drive the car hard.
