Your new interior looks great however the placement of the seat controls look a bit out of reach now.

I've been wanting to do the Alcantra inserts, but instead of getting rid of the seat controls, I want to add more side bolstering. Do you mind if I ask what the inserts cost you for reference. Did you do the seat R&R yourself? How difficult? I was thinking of taking it all apart for the upholstery guy to save some dough.

Good choice on the material and color, goes well with the center console. Definitely a worthy upgrade.

Looks exactly like the oem replicated maybe you just used your original black leather for the seat backing and sewed suede on there with new leather on the seat bottom? GOOD JOB!
The stitching was replicated by the upholsery shop.
He used the OEM as a template.
The OEM perf was removed entirely. (trash)

The 1st thing they do with the Alcantara is bond it to some foam backing (~1/4" or so)
Then they stitch the pattern through the foam... that gives it the shape.

They are a litttle lower... but, Looks can deceive

Actually, I find them MUCH closer to hand, because they're more forward.
I can more easilly find them w/o looking.

Ian,

What a great job!!!

Your car looks even more amazing. The Alcantara really sets off the interior very nicely. Great taste in colour choice.

That would look soooooooooo nice in my car!!!!! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm????

What's next????

JMO... but I don't think you can do anything with the bolsters w/o changing the controls.
That inside bolster is cramped for space already.
I had him add a little foam to firm up the boslters, which worked pretty good.
The Alcantara really helps to keep you planted in the seat as well.
You don't slide like you do on leather.

Yes I did the R&R myself (seats & door panels)
"Easy to do??" It depends on your experience.
I had things apart in a couple of hours.

I took the seats apart just enough to get the controls out, & left the rest.
I would recommend leaving them together as much as possible....
Your uphostery guy is going to want to see them before taking them apart.

Thanks...
Yah... I thought of those things; sun visors too. (I may still do them to hide the fugly labels)

Then I decided to try & match up to OEM design as much as possible,
So where ever the factory had perf leather ----->> = perf Alcantara
