My 2005 sedan with 19K miles on it all of a sudden had a loud clanging noise coming from the rear- sounded like pots and pans banging or scrapping together. Very loud! I got out of the car to see if anything was scrapping the ground and nothing. I drove 2 more blocks to work and parked the car. I just had it towed to the dealer. Only happens in gear not in neutral. No warning lights on the dash lit up. Anything similar ever happen to anyone?

PS Infiniti Roadside service sent a flatbed to pick up and the guy didn't hook the car up correctly and it jammed against the back of the flatbed damaging the grill. Now I gotta deal with Infiniti claims on top of this other mess.

 

Sounds like a rear diff. issue.
