Used .5 Qt in 900 miles? Normalish?

I have heard that a quart in 3000 is the norm on other VQ boards.

My altima uses maybe a half in 3000 miles.

But at this rate my infiniti would use at least 1.5 at 3000. Only have had the car for 1000 miles. It's a 03.5 with 55k.

Any input on this usage? I am on havoline dino 10w30.

Unfortunately, that will most likely be considered "within acceptable limits" for oil consumption.

To me, normal is less than a pint in 5000 miles. Mine uses less than that.

I've added oil once in 30K miles, and that I blame on it being underfilled, since I haven't seen oil loss any other time.

I burn ~0.5-1.5qts every 3k. I added a JWT oil pan spacer to give me an extra quart just in case I forget to check it from time to time.

Good idea on the JWT oil pan spacer. I wish I could use it but the GTSpec brace makes it impossible.

Ahh yes. Would the APS pan fit? I think it holds ~.5-.6qts more.
