Muffler Bearing Upgrade

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience replacing their muffler bearings? My stillen gen2 has been really loud recently at 5k+ rpms. Stillen suggested replacing the muffler bearings with these aftermarket ones for less noise:

Anyone have any experience with these?

I recently noticed some condensation (clear, odorless... ...seems to be water) dripping from the rear wall of the muffler on my wife's '05 Pathfinder. It's right about where the bearing is in the pic. Think it could be that the Pathfinder's is bad? And do they need to be packed with grease prior to install?

What tool is needed to press the bearing into the muffler opening? And is it supposed to rattle around inside once installed?

Nice find.

lol....awesome...finally someone that shares the same interrest in muffler bearings....for a quicker turbine spool i place it where the pipe meets the muffler usually before the muffler and for the long range twin combusting spoolage i place one before the muffler and then after the muffler i place another backwards.... oh boy o boy what a awesome savings in gas and superastronomical power addage...

I recommend the turbonator muffler bearings. The power increases are insane!

why not put a bearing on the intake before the maf???? (Intake bearing outdoes the turbonator by a whopping 11 hp...)

I had some rear blinker fluid leak down into my muffler and seize one of the muffler bearings. What an ordeal!

I experience the same problem with my TD, the exhaust is way too loud with the engine off. So I upgrade the muffler bearing with KaleCo unit. WOW, what a difference.
Here's the linky. DIY installation coming soon.http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main...products_id=10

Next up, twin turbonator kit.

You need new skyhooks to hold up the muffler once you get the bearings installed. LMFAO
