05 Brakes vs. 06

I had a 06 AT loaner for 5 days and noticed it's brakes were much more sensitive than my 05 6MT. It only took about an inch of pedal travel for the 06 brakes to brake a good stop. Push it further and you feel like all 4 wheels want to lock. It was not as bad as the on/off brakes of a 04 I drove a while back but close. My 05 feels more linear and perhaps soft. It takes around 4 inches of travel for a hard stop. After driving the 06 for close to a week, my 05 felt so soft when braking. Do my brakes sound normal for a 05 6mt? Is there supposed to be a difference between 6mt and 5at or between 05's and 06's? I have not driven any other 05's than my own.

I've not noticed any braking difference in the '06 loaners I've had over my '05 AT.

they're both the same. the '06 might have felt different or firmer since it was newer than yours. if you still feel something is up with your car, have it checked.

I would think, if the brakes on the loaner were that touchy, there is probably an issue with the loaner, I haven't driven an '05 or '06 with the brakes feeling like that.

Well, as has been discussed many times before here, the '05 X had the old brakes, the RWD had the new, but come on, 6k out of brakes?

I have over 25,000 miles on my original pads on my 05 X and there is lots of wear left. The fronts do dust up though (as discussed many times before)
