05 X here with 19k. I am taking an 8 hour road trip today, and will report any vibrations that seem to be drivetrain related.

Believe me your not the only one, but I'm sure others will say otherwise. I had so may issue w/this car that Infiniti is taking it back under NYS Lemon Law - they did not even try to dispute it. I know of 4 people personally who own this car [2 05x, 1 '06x and one '04 coupe] and we all have had major issue w/the cars some way or another. Too bad, the car has so much potential and I hope they fixed the quality issues for '07.

No vibrations in mine. The dealer should check the engine mounts. The engine mounts, if defective, can be a source of noise and vibration.

Lemon law huh? I think i've had the car too long to go the lemon law route. Besides, aside from the vibration, i love my car, and up until about a month ago, it was a blast to drive. But at least i know i'm not alone, and that there are people out there with no vibrations. Maybe i'll print this thread and bring it with me next time hehehehe.

Hey Lords, did you find the source of your vibration? Up till last month, I was driving rural routes, not going past 75 usually so I didn't notice much. With my new job, I take the interstate and around 80 mph I do notice a slight vibration, slight in the steering wheel and more so in the passenger seat. What I really notice is when my sunglasses are in the holder, you can hear them rattling! My 05 G35X has 14K miles and is otherwise trouble free. Kash

So what became of the Engineers coming to take a look at this? I want to pursue some action as well. It's annoying to be running at 80+ and to get an intermittant vibration.

They didn't have much to offer but advice. They loosened then re-tightened all the engine/tranny mounts, put some sort of buffer behind the gas peddle (why, i don't know???) and then decreased the road force (RFD) of the tires. I had never heard of this, but i guess they deflate the tires, spin it around the rim and remount it. They decreased the RFD from about 35 to 4 on three of the wheels, and only to about 30 on the 4th. They said it may be a defect in the tire, like the belt had come loose or something. They didn't replace it though.

I have a feeling it was a function of the RFD because it drives MUCH better now, almost negligible. I also think it was a combo of the brakes, final drive and the RFD that all got fixed that amplified the problem so much.

Hope this helps for anyone...
