The mod-bug bites again. (and suspension question)

Well, I got my coupe 18's with the Kumho 235's put on yesterday. Perfect fit, much wider and grippier that my stock 215's. I love it.
People are right when they talk about the bite of the mod bug. After getting the midpipe and rims/tires, I already ordered my stillen sways.

After putting the new rims on I want/need to lower the car about 1 inch or so to close up the gap. I have 66,000 mile on my current stock sport suspension. Should I just go with new springs, or should I get new shocks and springs at the same time.

Financially, I can get the springs right now, but if I were to get the springs and shocks together, it will take a little while longer.

Also, can anyone suggest a good inexpensive suspension setup. I was looking at Eibach Pro kit. But, I see the posts about using Z springs, and I'm confused with the revised, unrevised, coupe springs in front, etc. etc. etc...

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,
Dave

If you want a mild drop get the Z springs, they don't lower your car quite as much as the Eibach/H&R/etc.

If you have 66k I would wait and do struts and springs at the same time.

I concur with ttrank. With 66k miles you will definitely need new struts/shocks with any type of lowering spring.
I recently did the z/coupe spring setup on my G and I love it. I did however install it on the sport suspension (30k miles), and haven't had any issues. My shocks/struts won't last as long, but I'm aware of it.

For you the best best and cheapest would be the z springs with Tokico d-specs. The d-specs will offer the adjustability for dampening for the z springs and are fairly cheap. And the z springs, well just hit up 350z.com, and ask around.

as a side note, the reason I did the z/coupe setup is that I didn't want to lower the rear as much. My car has about the same wheel gap from front to rear, so it doesn't have the squat you might get from Z springs all the way around.

just my .02

I feel bad for helping you with your first mod. Your checking account will soon hate me! I would suggest a drop on z-springs/shocks. You should be able to get the whole combo for much less than $200. It will give you a 1" drop, and the 350z shocks are perfectly mated to the 350z springs. Also, I don't know if you already paid for your Stillen sways, but there is a local member here who has a set brand new in box...
