Help me diagnose a problem

Well, lately I haven't been beating on the car and driving like grandpa to conserve gas because of prices. Recently, I started to beat on the car because I missed the thrill of the speed and note of the exhaust. Weird thing is, when I do full throttle (VDC off) the power that used to be there isn't there anymore even after a ECU reset. By power, I mean like if I'm crusing at 60 and just floor it the car used to lag for a second and then pull like a mother and accelerated like crazy. Now when I do it, it barely pulls and the acceleration is not as linear as it once was and just steadily climbs. My gf drove my car and even noticed the problem without me even mentioning it to her.

My mods to the car are in my sig but they have been on my car for a while and I never had the issue. My K&N filter was installed the same time as my Z-tube at about 9k miles and I currently have almost 14k miles on the car. I also removed my power duct but this was never an issue before as the lag I notices was just recent. The only thing I can think of is that I'm due for an oil change (Mobile 1 synthetic with M1-110 filter) but I highly doubt that it would have an impact. Also, I think it is too soon for a cleaning of the air filter.

Basically my car just isn't the same as it used to be and I'm kinda upset because I don't know what is causing the problem. Anyone out there able to point me in the right direction?

Yea, I've read that thread already and was thinking of cleaning the MAF. The thing is, I never "recharged" my filter so I don't think I would suffer from the same issue as people who have over oiled their filters. But its worth a shot, I'll grab a can tomorrow if I can find a shop that carries it.

Kragen has it. Well it is possible that oil when it was first installed could also be on the sensor. But thats just a possiblility.

I just got home from Pep Boys and was about to clean my MAF sensor with the CRC cleaner and as I was doing so, I noticed that the house that was 5 homes over was on fire. I watched the fire fighters put out the fire while I was cleaning my MAF sensor. I was goin to take pictures of me doin the MAF cleaning but took pictures of the house on fire instead.

I have to compress the photos and then I'll post it. Good news is no fatalities but I think someone had minor burns

This is good to know and something that I expected. But none the less I was worried and cleaned the MAF so that I could eliminate one more variable. Thanks for the reassurance!

Well, he reset his ECU. How did you do the reset? When I grandma my car for awhile, it learns to be passive. Beat the hell out of it and make it learn how to drive!

Resseting the ECU will put in normal mode until it learns your driving habits again, so drive it hard for several days and it should become more aggressive.... Be patient young grasshopper

Did a pedal reset after I sprayed with CRC. Just got back home from driving the $hit out of it on the highway. Still sub par performance as compared to before. Lack of acceleration is killing me. I'm goin to be beatin the hell out of the car soon b/c this is a pain in my @ss!
