Passenger side rattle

I have a very minor, plasticky sounding rattle coming from the front passenger side of my G, but I don't ever hear it when someone is in the seat, any suggestions (LOL, other than keep a passenger there all the time)what might be the cause of this?

Could be coming from the door and the passenger blocks the sound. My passenger door rattles when certain bass notes play. I need to find time to pull the door panel off and fix it.

It could be the dangling buckle on the seat belt hitting the side of the car. I get that sometimes when passengers get out and leave it twisted.

I often get the twisted seatbelt rattle. I also have a plastic rattle somewhere in the glovebox area that comes and goes.

Easy fix skeleton. Fill the surrounding speaker cover(silver metal) with clear silicone on the outside of the door panel. I kept getting that plastic thump sound and tried a few experiments to find the cause of it.

No need to take off the door panels for this.

Tom,

Quick test: when you hear it pull out the passenger's seat belt. I also find that the buckle rattles now and then. Maybe get a boot cover for it.

I tried that, wasn't it. I'm beginning to think it's the plastic trim that runs around the bottom of the seat, maybe when someone is sitting there it puts some pressure on that and the rattle stops, we'll see.

I had a rattle coming from my passenger seat when nobody would sit in it also. I took it to the dealer and had the shop foreman ride in the back seat to listen for it. It ended up being the seat rails. Once they replaced those I've never heard it again. My noise was not a plasticy sounding rattle, more like if say the seat bolts were slighty lose and if you were to hit the back of the seat and it would move back and forth, something like that.

Same here. I get a rattle from the compartment above the glove box...where the nav DVD would be if I had it. My rattle actually comes from the bottom piece of that compartment....it's loose. You can tap on it slightly with your fingers and you'll hear and fell that it's loose. I keep my CD holder in there nice and snug so I don't usually hear it.

Okay, an update, maybe this sound is actually coming from the door panel, I notice when someone rides with me, they have their arm on the armrest, so that could silence the noise, I'll check that out next!

Eloy, is it hard to remove the door panel without messing it up, like in the old cars with those stupid clips that would always bend?
