My introduction and Final Fix for Suspension Crunch

Hey guys my first time posting, but my 4 millionth time on the site, sorry for being so quiet. Just wanted to give a shout out to all the people on this killer board, thanks for the loads of knowledge! Anyway, I've had the cronk/creak on my 04.5 for like a year and a half and infiniti of tustin never could fix it. Finally took it over to Mission Viejo and they are so much nicer, and smarter!

If any of you still have that gross creak/crunch/cronk sound coming from the front end going over speed bumps and or drive way aprons while turning I have the fix for sure. And this one is definitely the one, my car makes no more noises up front at all, I couldn't be happier! I'm so impressed with the service from Mission Viejo, anybody in the area should hit them up for any problems. Funny thing is that i live across the street from the MV dealership but bought my car at tustin and didnt know u could take it at any dealership for repairs. I'm an idiot!

Anyway here is the parts numbers for the reference

"client states noise front end turning into driveways. Front Compression Rods Making noise, replaced both front left and right.

-Compression rod: FRO-54469-AC70F
-Compression rod: FRO-54468-AC70F
-(2)Bolt-Stopper-40038-AL510"

YEEEAAAAHHHH!!! Only took 1.5 years to get it fixed, jesus, amazing how crappy these techs can be!

You might want to sticky this!

One more question, is the Z tube really worth it??

Well, I was extremely happy when the dealer changed my compression rods as well back in December of '05. I know how you feel driving around without that creak. But, keep an eye on it. From others on the board and my experience with mine, the noise comes back. I just took mine again last week during an oil change and told them again about the creak. They lubed it this time. By the way, the '06 loaner they gave me had the same damn creak!!!! Although, your compression rod part #'s are different. These are the ones they replace mine with:

ROD COMPL - TENSION, FR - 54469-AL511
ROD COMPL - COMPRESS - 54468-AL511

I wonder if the '05s have diff part #s...

TSB? I haven't seen a TSB for the compression rods? What year is the TSB for? Do you have a link to the TSB? I couldn't find it at www.infinitihelp.com for the '05s.

The compression rod replacement doesn't seem to be a permanent fix. The ones' on my wife's 05 G35X were replaced in the Spring, and the creaks are now back.

Will Infiniti just keep throwing parts at these things, or are we on our own after the first replacement?

Does anyone have photos of what - exactly - to lube? What did you use as a lube? Silicon spray or some sort of grease?

Thanks,

Mark
