I think that once the car has a changed motor the validation should have stopped at the last recorded miles of the 1st engine, so as not to have the thread confused by a car that has somewhat lost its originality. However I think that the moderator of the post should allow you to continue to update the thread just for supplemental info. Just an opinion that's all. Fyi I am about 300 miles short of 300,000 on same engine and transmission on an 03 g35 auto trans.

I happen to agree with you. It's not about the durability of the chassis....

I'm more impressed that the tranny has held for that many miles. What has your maintenance been like over the life of the powertrain?

Update in my 2003 G35 mileage

I know that this is an old thread but I wanted to update regardless. In August of 2022, about 305000 miles on my odometer with original engine and tranny I developed a small coolant leak. I topped off the reservoir at least once a week with daily driving. I ended up misdiagnosing it as my waterpump, which is a very expensive repair $800- $1000. Plus I wanted to replace timing chain while I was in there, even more expensive. So I decided to replace my engine altogether with an imported low mileage one. Cost for engine $1600 and labor $500 to install. Found out after old engine was pulled it was leaking from thermostat housing which is next to my waterpump😭. So this is my story. Hard lessons learned. Love this replacement engine though. Auto Tranny is still going strong. I only changed the fluid once at around 280000 miles. Now I have 312000 on my odometer. Well worth it. I Love my G.
