First one snapped the crank in half. Had a bad motor mount, it lifted hit the hood landed and snapped in half internally
I think that once the car has a changed motor the validation should have stopped at the last recorded miles of the 1st engine, so as not to have the thread confused by a car that has somewhat lost its originality. However I think that the moderator of the post should allow you to continue to update the thread just for supplemental info. Just an opinion that's all. Fyi I am about 300 miles short of 300,000 on same engine and transmission on an 03 g35 auto trans.

I happen to agree with you. It's not about the durability of the chassis....

I'm more impressed that the tranny has held for that many miles. What has your maintenance been like over the life of the powertrain?

I know that this is an old thread but I wanted to update regardless. In August of 2022, about 305000 miles on my odometer with original engine and tranny I developed a small coolant leak. I topped off the reservoir at least once a week with daily driving. I ended up misdiagnosing it as my waterpump, which is a very expensive repair $800- $1000. Plus I wanted to replace timing chain while I was in there, even more expensive. So I decided to replace my engine altogether with an imported low mileage one. Cost for engine $1600 and labor $500 to install. Found out after old engine was pulled it was leaking from thermostat housing which is next to my waterpump😭. So this is my story. Hard lessons learned. Love this replacement engine though. Auto Tranny is still going strong. I only changed the fluid once at around 280000 miles. Now I have 312000 on my odometer. Well worth it. I Love my G.

Original engine was replaced at 435,000 miles, following possible vacuum leak leading to engine failure.
Remanufactured engines were unavailable during the pandemic and a used engine was obtained from LKQ.
Original AT5 transmission has been replaced with a remanufactured one.
The compression rods in the front-end suspension seem to be the first things to go. Currently on the third set. Control arms were the second to go bad. The steering knuckles have also been replaced.
Will also report favorable impression of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 tires on 18” rims. They function as a refinement to the stock dampers, providing a comfortable ride without sacrificing performance. And the A/S 4s are quiet like the Pirelli P-Zeroes that I’ve experienced on a Porsche Boxster S.

Thanks for this. I'm waiting on delivery of a set of 18" König F1Ms that I am pairing with the same Michelins. So I'm really happy to hear your impression!

Besides regular maintenance my black on black 2003 G35 Sedan 5AT with Sport package (have window sticker, bought in Japan) the ONLY thing i have EVER replaced was the Radiator because it blew it's top! Everything else is original to the car. Well thats a lie I did replace the stock BOSE head unit with a Pioneer Premier F90BT with front 2 channels powering front and rear door speakers in series and the rear 2 channels on this car stereo are BRIDGE-ABLE and then controllable by the Subwoofer controls on the stereo! So I bridged them rear channels and have 110 watts RMS going to the stock BOSE 8" Sub which i built a fiberglass enclosure for that fills the space between the package shelf and the upper trunk liner making the sub hit soooo hard and no longer "pop"! I had noticed that when the trunk was full of stuff the sub sounded so so sooooo much better, so decided to give it a smaller air space!
Anyway this is about miles, car purs like a cat and rides smooth as a penthouse pet's butt! Always had GTX full synthetic in it since it was purchased new. I love these cars and found some low mileage pit woofies around me and may be getting another one! Thank you G35 Driver, I have found so many answers here and finally making my first post, or reply really, LOVE ♡ your website!!!!
