I left my car on once and walked out of it to open the gate, my car just started making a beeping sound, never shut off.

I don't think it's a G35x or G35 ... it's the premium package that includes the intelligent key feature. The G35 does not have a push button because it was designed originally for a key so it was sort of a "retrofit" when they wanted to put in the intelligent key feature. Now if only I can have an intelligent key for my house, then I wouldn't need to take anything out of my brief case!

Ignition kill systems are illegal in the US. When I was a car audio installer we would do them on the side for certain people but they are dangerous.

nice pulse timer relay installed on the fuelpump relay output,,, so you push the button and when someone steals car by carjacking... they make it about a block away and your car just sits there till you turn fuel pump back on.

All I need was this to open the door:

Before you start a green key check light goes on if the keyless enty is somewhere present.
All you do is push then turn the ignition on.
And I saw that you can still use a key to turn it on (if you wanted to)

And the car was a G35x for those's who don't believe

It's not that people don't believe you had and X, they are just saying this option is available on all sedans, X or not, it is part of the premium package on 05 and newer models.

I had always wondered about that too. My guess it's kinda like the one touch windows. You press the button litely to turn on the electronics and repeat to turn off. Your press harder to hit the "second switch" to start the car up and repeat to turn off the car, except now a lite push does nothing.

The ones I have seen still use a key or a remote module.

i'll educate people since i'm a sales consultant and manager....

push button start is standard in the M-series sedans...

hold down the brake pedal, push the push button start button once it'll go to accessory mode, push it again it'll turn the battery on and push it one more time it'll start up the car.

we believed you had a G35x as a loaner car because we have over 40 G35x loaner cars -- none with a premium package b/c it's just a loaner vehicle. The premium package a lot of people have on the boards so they know how it works

Seems a little excessive to me (haven't test driven the M yet)- to push the button all three times. When I test drove the 325xi, it was just push the button once, and the engine started.

well easier way is hold down the brake then hold the button down and it'll start if you want to do it that way --- it's hard sometimes for customers to comprehend the way push button start works
