Even though my car is a coupe I posted it here because I thought you would like to know as to how the Maxima stacks up. Anyway my ride is 03 6mt coupe and his is a 04 Maxima SL with auto trans. We raced two times. The first one I beat him by 2-3 car lengths to 60 mph. The second race the stoplight was a delayed one so when he saw a yellow light on the other side he got ready and when it hit red to get a earlier start he jumps the light but then stops. So I have to move closer and when I am almost stopped the light turns green and I floor it and induce massive wheelspin. I still went on to beat him by 1.5 car lenghts to 60 mph. WE also did a 20 -80 run and I had him by about 1.5 to 2 car lengths.

Ya my starts werent that great either but still better than his. I didnt really want to race cuz I knew I was going to win anyway but he insisted to see by how much I would actually win.

The SL if I am not mistake is about 1sec slower like around 6.8 because of the 4spd auto and weight. Like many say never race your own kind of engine.

He only went to 60. In a quarter mile he'd probably pick up another car length or so.

First of all, the maxima is Se not Sl. When i raced him i didnt have a good start neither did he.

If we both had perfect start, he would beat me like half a car because i dont think he can shift that perfect to get 0.7 time ahead of me.
Plz dont be surprise that he didnt beat me more.

No way could he take you unless he is a good diver and u are not. The 6spd is doing at least 5.6 to 60. So it was an SE not an SL was it a 4spd or 5spd auto or manual?

 

Im the maxima owner, the maxima is 5 speed auto.
Rob can't do 5.6 0-60 cause thats the lowest i have ever seen in any magazine. So i think he will win me by a car or so if we both have a good start on 1/4 mile race. I was just surprise when that guy said "im suprised you didn't win by more", thats why i posted this.

04 Maxima

 

Don't rely on magazine times. I have seen G35 6MT coupes run 13.9's stock in the 1/4. That would equate to about a 5.3 0-60.
