lookin to pick up this '04 .. feedback?

hi

i found a '04 g35 i'm lookin to get ... with 31k mi , $22k out-the-door is my target for final negotiation this week.

It's a black/black, leather, auto ... unfortunately it comes with some OK aftermarket chrome wheels. Either way i was goin to replace them with a 19" infinti set or aftermarket of my choice.

I think the price is pretty good .. what do you think? title is clean.

The paint (black) is in great shape ... therw as a minor ding on the trunk, but not too noticeable. I also noticed 2 very minor touch ups on the rear bumper.

Underneath the car, there seemed to be a loose splash guard ... not sure what's that about.

I had a question regarding options ... the interior was black leather and I noticed the radio was not Bose. It didn't have a spoiler either. It did have moonroof.

It did have HID .. is that standard on the car?

I'm not sure what kind of options this came with .. it was a used car dealership.

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

I bought an '04 blk/blk sedan 3 months ago.Sounds like the car your looking at has a few after mods, which I'm not all that familiar with. But, they probably make it better than the stock.
Mine has the aero package(with near zero lift),and premium package.Alpine(after market nav).Racing suspension and brakes(stock, there so,so),Bose( so yours is probably better) .
But soon to come,Z-tube,Stillen spacer and exhaust, and a pop charger(just haven't decided which 1. I don't want to have to cut(or **** up) the engine shroud) I like it to look stock.

Oh, that price is good, buy it and welcome to the club.

Rubbber side down.

i'm lookin for a total stock car ... everything under the hood was clean and stock. Only wheels were changed.

The interior was sorta dirty, but nothin a good detail can't fix (i'm a detail *****).

I just bought an 04 IP 5AT w/ aero and prem package it had 32000 miles and I got it for $22500.I looked around for a while and this was the best price I could get, so your price looks pretty good.

Need to have the option package. But in general it seems like a decent deal. HIDs are standard after 03 I believe.

Plus run a carfax to see if it was a rental or lease.

Welcome to the G-side.

The G you're looking sounds to be a fairly typically optioned car. Since it does not have Bose, that means it doesn't have the Premium package which includes auto on/off headlights, auto dim mirror, power passenger seat, reclining rear seats, rear passenger vent (built in the center console), dual zone climate control, and Bose. The G doesn't have the Aero package (wing and undercar rear diffusers) nor the Sport package (5 spoke 17s, stiffer springs and struts) either. The price sounds about right for the Cali area.

HID is standard on all 04+ G35s.

I sent an email to the guy to request the VIN # ... i'm stupid, I forgot to take a pic of it/write it down when I was there on Sat. I'll run it through carfax and see what's up. He did say it's only been through 1 owner.

Dave, thanks for all that info ... exactly what I was looking for! I think I can live without the extra amenities ... Problem is a black/black G35 sedan is hard to come by.

Just loook and look before you make that decision. Blk Blk 6speed G35 without premium package is not worth more than 18-19.

Nadir,

You can check edmunds.com and kbb.com for their price estimations - keep in mind that they're only an indicator, but they are (supposedly) location-based.

Also, edmunds will show what packages were available. But it does sound like the sunroof was the only option selected over base.

Another reference is Craigs List (craigslist.org/car/car) which has quite a few G35's for the bay area.

Good luck.

If you can swing a few k more, maybe you can get a new '06 sedan since the '07 are out soon... It's worth looking into IMO, and if you are going to take out a car loan to buy it, terms on a new car loan will be better than a used car loan.

I guess it depends on your area, but around here, '06 sedans are going fairly cheap... under $30k out the door...
