I Just want to add some info on the BMW 330 vs. G35 sedan

1. The BMW is at least 10k more, of course it's going to handle better than g35, it's known for it.

2. I own a 2001 3 series and it's a fabualous driving car!

3. BMW's break down more than any luxury car out there and it costs a zillion dollars more to fix than the G35. I fogot who said it in a post but the break pads and rotors are so ridiculously expensive it's retarded. Oh yeah and the o2 sensor went out on my BMW twice and it was only up to 45k. 3 months after I bought my BMW the rear windows and the rear defroster stopped working. Just like the lower end audi's and mbz, they have major electrical problems! That's why japanese cares like toyota, honda, and now nissan are taking over in the reliability ratings, when back in the day the old 80's mbz and bmw's were tanks and never broke down. If you are planning to keep the car for awhile, you will save thousands with the G when both cars are out of warranty and even normal wear and tear. The price to performance ratio on the g35 is substantially better than the 330, sure it doesn't look as nice and i'll admit that, and the interior blows, but just remember the 10 k you saved with the G. Ask anyone with an older BMW and they will confirm the constant problems. It's funny too because I'll I hear in this form (which is chill btw) is stupid rattle complaints which are arbitrary when it comes to serious car repair. But like I said they 330 handles better than the G, looks cooler, has better interior, way better transmission, but it's in another price range. I'm not bagging on BMW fans either as I still have my 2001 3 series.

4. I don't know who is losing 0-60 races with the g35 sedan vs 2006 BMW 330, you guys either have your A/C on, a full gas tank, are extremely fat, have a 200 pound sub enclosure in your car, or just a crappy driver. The 330 should definitely keep up with the G, but shouldn't blow it away. Sure the 6 speed will help up near 100mph, but not 0-60 pulls. My mom has a 2006 330 and ive driven it, the G is defintely more torquey. Remember the 330 is an inline to the torque comes in quicker, you have to keep japanese engines rev'd high to let the beast roar. This is where th 6mt is way better than the 5at, 6mt will win everday imo, and I have a 5AT so no bias here.

5. It's kinda like s2000 drivers that can't get their car to move as well because they shift too early, keep that **** rev'd high and japanese engines deliver.

just my 2 cents!

I'm not so sure.

My friend has an e35 330i, minimal mods (intake). I've never challenged him from a dig, from at a roll (60mph) I was only slowly pulling on him. All I am saying is, it seems feasible to me that the new 330i is faster, and that it will do better.

I have raced a new bmw, which I believe was a 3-series (I'm assuming 330i). At "highway speeds" (lol) we were about dead even

So I dunno...

Hey guys, also keep in mind, we're comparing a car that debuted in 2003 to an all-new 3-series. Wait until the 2007 sedan arrives, then who'll be asking "How am I loosing to my friend?!" - 330i drivers no doubt. haha

It's not a maybe, it's a IT WILL. The only car, from what I've heard, that it wont beat in its class is the 335's. The 330's should be a walk in the part, the C-class, A4 (2.0T and 3.0) and the IS350 will be nothing.

I will second that on the BMW 3 series...

... tranny went out at 88K. The dealer was asking $7k to fix, and a independent mechanic was offering $5k. It was extremely dissappointint to buy a car that the sales guy told us that would last well into the 200k range -without major breakdowns, just normal maintenance. Even more, the mechanics told me they weren't surprised that tranny BMW's breakdown this early.

So we traded that BMW in for a brand new Nissan Murano last year, 2005. We liked the Nissan brand so much, we replaced my totalled Jaguar (XJ6, 1993) with a G35 sedan. I was impressed with the quiet ride, and decieving long wheel base. I believe the G35 wheel base was 0.8" shorter than the Jag. And it was 1/2 the price of my XJ6. Granted the English really do a good job on making an interior comfy and warm. But, I am truly impressed with what Infiniti has done. I did add the rosewood option to my G35... I thought I would miss my burl wood in my Jag. :-)
