Before you say it, I did do a search. My question is how difficult is it to remove and reinstall the tire pressure monitors from old wheels to new wheels? I imagine the tire store will have to do it. Is it just glued in there, and is it easy to get damaged during replacement?

Any tire shop can do it....had mine taken out of my OEM rims & put in my Milano's. The only issue is once you take them out & put them into a new set of wheels, you need to go to the dealer to have them reprogram the car so that it reads/talks to the sensors again. Don't think they can get damaged..I saw them when they were out & didn't look that delicate. What is your concern about damage all about? Don't trust the tire shop?

As long as you use the same sensors they do not need to be reprogrammed. A 12mm socket is all that you need to remove them. & yes they can become damaged by the tire machine if they don't have a clue.

so do most people just drive around with the low pressure light on?

no. the light doesn't come on unless you drive for a continuous 50 miles or more. essentially, you will only get the light when you are on road trips.
whenever you turn the car off, the light goes off too! and won't come on again until you go for a long drive.
I usually go weeks at a time without seeing the light!

Ok guess I can deal with that, I'm that nitty picky that I would hate to see that light and can;t do anything about it.
