Burnt My Cat Up :/

I own a 04x. So about a month ago now,

I bought:

MD Plenum Spacer
Stillen Gen 1 Exaust
Weapon R Intake

At first it definitely seemed more powerful off the butt-dyno, everything was cool. I was "planning" on adding a couple things at my own financial pace.
I was told in advance that I should get my ECU flashed and the chances of burning the Cat up. Instead I reset my ECU and gave it a day of WOT to unleash my add ons.About a week ago I started to notice a smell a sulfer smell (stinky) not burning. Now just a daily drive to work you can smell it when you get out of the car.

I'm pretty sure the Cat is done but in all my reading on this site after all the add-ons people have I see alot of folks without aftermarket Cats with all the same stuff I have. Did I buy way to much air than the norm?

Anyway the point of the post is to get some confimation that my car is not in danger of harm if I continue to drive until i get the money to buy the new cat and ecu flash?

Thanks

Running rich will burn a cat up. Mods will make a car run lean (if they really do that)

one of my cats broke because of an o2 sensor that wasn't seated all the way. caused a rich condition, broke it.

But is it fair to say when you reset the ECU it could try to overcompensate for the air a use to much fuel?

Running too rich or too lean can damage your cats. Too rich seems to damage them faster. Those mods won't make your car run rich.

How many miles do you have? Depending on your driving style and miles you could just be in need of a new cat.

If that is the problem, check on here and on my350z.com for someone selling some used low mileage stock cats. They will be a lot cheaper than a new set.

Nope - I have 32k on my car and it was kinda abrupt after i put my mods on.

I got maybe a weeks worth of power and then my car acted a little sluggish
and started to smell like rotten eggs on occasion.

Is this a freak thing?

Does Magnaflow make a cat for the g35 sedan?
if not
Is Crawford the way to go? I know everyone has opinions but i was hoping someone could just give me the consensus

Thanks for the feedback

The sulfer smell is a by-product of the catalyst. There's nothing wrong. The reason the odor is more prevalent is because you're probably driving the car harder.

Nitrogen, CO2, H2O, CO, hydrogen sulfide

The rotten egg smell comes from the sulfur in fuel additives which don't get burnt completely and sometimes get stored in the catalytic converter is and then released it as hydrogen sulfide when you add load to the engine.

Lots of information here:
