compression rod squeak

i see some of you have claimed lubing the compression rod bushing helps with the squeak a lot of us hear in our sedans. can someone tell me how to properly lube this item? what type of lubre product is best?

i haven't been able to get my dealer (lokey infiniti) to acknowledge the issue yet, so i am willing to try the lube option for now.

thanks

yeah, i figured the lube option was not a real fix, but......

i am going to hit the dealer again at my next oil change and see what they say. after that, if they refuse, i may call infiniti consumer affairs and complain.......for what it is worth.

Thanks, good to know.

Had both front compression rods replaced by SW Houston Infiniti. Unfortunately the noise is back and everytime I complain the dealership responds with, "Cannot duplicate at this time"

Mine is creaking again now that's cold in the mornings. Problem is once you drive the car to the dealer, everything warms up and the noise wont' happen.

Mine creak and I've never had them replaced. They only creak under the situations you describe and seeing that Infiniti can't fix the problem, I'm not going to persue the issue. I'll just shoot some silicon at the movement points everyonce in a while. My 03 creaks maybe once or twice a month and it's been that way since I bought the car nearly 2 years ago.

How much did you pay to have them replaced Dave? Or was it under warranty?

fwiw... I thought I had to have the dealer look into this problem too. But I remember someone saying that you get squeaking from your sways if they arent lubed enough. So, I cleaned and re-lubed my sway bar bushings and my squeaks went away. -I have hotchkis sways.
