My G won't fire up :(

well, I've had my 03.5 Sedan for a week, and the bitch won't start.

I turn the key the first couple clicks, everything powers up, stereo comes on etc, then when you turn it to start the car, everything shuts down, stop turning key, everything is back up...

I have an appointment for service this wednesday (today is Monday) and I have borrowed my mother's car as she is a saint, I'm jsut wondering if anyone has any ideas as to what this could be, or if you've had this problem?

I got a replacement battery, brand new so that can't be the problem.

Should I be worried here, is my G gonna be ok? a week and she's already hurting me... thank god for warranty, and Infinity... man they sure are nice about it!

Wow that sucks. Maybe the starter is dead. Also it's normal for everything to shutoff when you turn the key to start.

Oh yeah, one more thing, it's Inifniti not Infinity.

Good luck with the dealer.

Could be the starter, could be a bad ground on the battery. Could be lots of other stuff.

Let us know what it turns out to be.

If it is an AT, make sure the gear shifter isn't stuck in between gears... it must be in P

If you aren't hearing the starter click over at all, it could possibly be the immobilizer system as well...

hmm, I shoulda said a few other things. the car is a 6MT. I hear NOTHING from inside the cabin, but upon further investigation, I opened the hood and had the wifer giver' a try and could hear a clicking, but not starter-clicking... more like what you'd hear when turning on a defroster in a ****ty car (I had a Mazda and you could hear the fuse click on lol) so I'm wondering if its just a fuse... DEAR god let it be a fuse!

do you guys think it could be the auto starter? it's been on the car for a year and the previous owner never had a problem with it (he was a good friend of mine who traded up to an IS350, he said he cannot believe this is happening!)

I just feel so aweful, its been tarnished only a week after getting it driving around in my mommy's car makes me feel liek a teenager again!

INFINITI! Sorry bout that :P keep the ideas commin guys, and I'll keep you posted... that is IF the flatbed can get it outta my driveway

Sounds like a weak connection somewhere or corrosion but it could be anything.
