Key Problem (UPDATE)

Well i bought my car with only two keys....one car key...and one key card...and i seem to have lost my car key ..i was just wondering...do i still have to tow my car to an infiiniti dealership?...or could i just get it made with the key card?

I think they can make you a new one with the card and the VIN number. Call them on Monday to see for sure.

Let me know the price you end up paying, my dealer wants $200+ for another master(silver) key!

im hoping they can make it with the vin number and the key card...sadly...im gonna have to wait till Tuesday..cuz up here in canada...monday is thanksgiving :@..so im carless for da weekend.

Sorry to hear that man......When you get new keys, get 2 made so that you have a spare.
They should be able to makes new keys using the card key as a pattern.

heyy thankss....yeahh i planned on getting one made...but just kept putting it off...serves me right..ahah...i know i can get the key copied...but the whole programing?..is that gonna be a problem??

ohk soo i called this morning and they said they couldnt do it without the car there..soo i had to get it towed there..found a preety good rate ...50 bucks flat all the way there...then the key cost me 180..i really dont understand why they couldnt cut it and recode it without the car ...but what you gonna do ..gonna order a key online and get it cut by them asap...so this wont happen again...thanks for everyones help ..

I'm surprised that no one knows a way around the security system. There has to be a way.

If they can bypass it for remote starting, then anything is possible, right?

It doesn't get bypassed for remote starting. For the remote start add-ons you need to give them a working coded key that gets put in a box in the dash so the car thinks a correct key is in the ignition. They will break the key so it can't be dug out by thief and used for starting. That is one of the reasons I didn't get remote start with my Python alarm-I didn't want to add another $150-200 to the cost. I can add it later if I want it.

The car and all keys have to be at the dealer so the entire set of them can be programmed at the same time.
