i guess i did get a good deal. its funny though maaco said they can repaint the whole car for 250 so i was thinking if they can do the whole car how much would they ask for parts of a car. But then again i heard bad things about maaco.

i think for 250, maaco just paints over ur old paint without any primer or anything... oh and it washes off in rain. kidding, but I haven't heard anything good about it.

I love having black I could prep the moulding (wash, alcohol whip down), go buy a few cans of black bumper paint (already has some flex in it) and paint them myself. Then shoot the bumper black with some gloss. Sure, it won't have the great mirror shine of OEM, but on the lower portions of a black car, you'd never know. I did the same exact thing with my Stillen body kit on my Maxima. It sure made things easy when it cam to scrapping the kit on curbs. Remove, reshoot, reinstall. 20 minutes and $5. Definitely one of the few advantages to black is the ease of personnal paint modification. Grill, door handles, etc.

bugsdad - Yes, the molding is texture. Lightly but its there, 320-400 grit should take care of that.

Just finish mine yesterday. Removed, sanded, primered, blocked, and refinished. Dry over night & reinstalled this morning before work.

Do it once & do it right. Nothing is quite like doing it again because you didn't do it right the first time.

I have a little bit of an advantage, I work at a body shop. Pay is not so great, but it does have its benefit.
