Lower Front Bumper
Lower Front Bumper
I imagine this has happened to many here, I scraped the front trim at the very bottom of the bumper on a parking barrier, why it was so high, I don't know, but it made a small mark on the black portion, nothing much, but it is a new car, LOL, probably won't even notice it tomorrow, anyone have any tips on touching that up?

Re: Lower Front Bumper
I did that a couple times too. The lower sill is probably frayed from the scrape. The best you can do is to cut away the frayed part, so that it doesn't run up and lead to a crack. I used a new razor blade and very carefully cut away all the "fringe" on the bumper. Then I used a very fine grained sandpaper to smooth it out. Looks like new!

Re: Lower Front Bumper
Thanks, I did that, scrapped away the "fringe" that wasn't bad,it left a small "notch" there, which looked white, I dabbed it with a Sharpie, does look better, maybe if I smooth that out it will look even better! If I hadn't noticed it was hitting it and didn't back out carefully, it would have been worse, IMO. Damn high parking barriers! I am being much more careful now! Just for future reference, is the black sill a seperate piece?
