Red face Tire Help

Im in bad shape with my tires i just got not even 3 months ago. I think their Goodyear GSd3's or some crap. My fronts have lasted almost a year but the rears go fast as hell and i sware i dont lose traction that much. Anyone no of tires that have a better Tread wear ?
Thanks

Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position. You'll give up some high end performance but the treadwear is much better. They should last you 30K under normal driving habits.

I got good life out of my Nitto 555's. Not 30k, you won't find a Z rated summer tire that will last that long.

Goodyear eagle F1 DSG3s are one of the best u can get out there. They have very good thread ware, best wet performance and Toyo T1R like dry grip.

Ok you got me there. I have gotten ~7 months out of my rear tires so far and they still have a good 50% left. When I went from 245's to 275's the price has made me be much nicer to the rear tires.

I heard the Nitto's get pretty good life out of them. You may already know this, but you want the highest UTQG rating you can find if you're looking for longer treadlife. I think my T1-R's have a UTQG of 280?

My friend who has worked for discount tire for 10 years told me the tread wear rating's are done by the manufacturer and you can't compare one brand's rating to another. They just give you an idea how they compare to other tires in their collection.

Yeah...I kinda learned that too, when I was researching tires. A UTQG of 280 on a Toyo doesn't mean a UTQG of 280 on a Hankook will yield similar mileage, though I think it still kinda helps (if Bridgestone makes 3 HP types of tires..he'd want to go with the highest rating). Thanks for clarifying that for him.

BTW - when I was shopping for tires, i talked to a guy who claimed he got 50K miles on his 555's with regular rotations & pressure checking...not bad, eh?

I tend to go for tires around 300. They are good summer tires but can get some decent life out of them.

50k on a set of 555's ay? That's incredible. It would never happen here in Phoenix (too hot). I typically get 10-12k out of a set, up to maybe 15-16 if I am nice to them. My rears have about 7-8k on them now and should last another 4.

Just don't buy anything made by Cooper. After that lawsuit I will never buy any of their brands.

You are 100% correct sir. I've worked in tires for a little over 2 years now and that's just the way it is, as retarted as it is that they dont all have the same rating system. But there not going to change it now.
