Cabin Microfilter

I'm a new G35 owner and while looking through the maintenance schedule, I noticed that Infiniti recommends changing the cabin microfilter every 15,000 miles. Where is the microfilter located and can you change it yourself ? How much does it cost for the dealer to replace it ?

Re: Cabin Microfilter

The filter is located behind the glove box. You can change it yourself, a new filter runs around $30 I believe, you can get them at the site below. Pick G35, then click the "maintenance" link on the left hand side.. I think the dealer charges around $100 installed.

Here's the instructions on removing the glove box.

Re: Cabin Microfilter

i assume the microfilter was an extra, bundled with a package. i bought a 6mtC but no packages (sunroof a la carte).

can i just buy a microfilter and stick it in a slot or is there a special bracket or something.

Re: Cabin Microfilter

It is easy. But our manuals don't show instructions.

Re: Cabin Microfilter

Our manual is very good at saying "take it to your Infiniti dealer for service."

Re: Cabin Microfilter

Probably because it's a cheap car, and the owner's can't afford to go to the dealership for everything.. where as the luxury brands figure you don't want to get your hands dirty, so just bring it on down and we'll take care of it for ya.. for a small fee.

Re: Cabin Microfilter

hey, stop knockin my sentra. it is a great car. an 04, 1.8s auto for 11,400.

it is a team player. this car will save me $ by getting 35 mpg and taking regular, compared to my coupe hopefully getting 23 mpg and taking high test.

plus, it's sacrifice by allowing my kids in soccer and football uniforms to mess it up, saves my G wear and tear.

it is not cheap, it is "economical"

Re: Cabin Microfilter

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to rag on your car.. I was just referring to the manufacturer's opinion of the attitude of a small economy car owner v. a luxury car owner.
