What?
I think we need some more details on this one. Do you have an AT? Is it all the way in park?

When you say you made it ipod compatible, what did you use (USA spec, PAC, etc)? The only thing I can think of is that you somehow did not reinstall the aluminum piece with the ashtray or shift **** correctly and the car really isn't in park even though you think it is.

Give us some more details, is you shifter fully functioning? Could it be the blue piece under the shift **** (not sure).

Ha, been there done that! I spent about 20 minutes a few months ago trying to get the key to turn in my wife's 325. I swear I almost broke the key. Finally in a mini fit of rage I smacked the steering wheel and voila, the car turned on.

That night she tells me, "Oh that happens all the time, all you have to do is turn the steering wheel a bit." Grrrrr.

EDIT - Oh and glad you got your car working!

Been there also, though I have never smacked the wheel, shake the wheel erratically while growling, yes, but smack, nope.

Haha happened to me before also, when the steering wheel locks up, and the key wont turn.

In my bros car though (99 grand prix gtp) the key wont come out sometimes. Omfg makes me wanna flip when I have to repark his car. You have to keep jiggling it and putting to acc mode all the time, ugh.
