07 Test Drive, WOW!

Hey guys I was at Riverside Infiniti on Saturday to pick up jdm rear lights for my sedan. I saw the 07 outside and it was hot. After I got my lights from Chad I asked one of the sales people if I can drive it. Micheal (sales-rep) said sure. Anway the comfort inside felt like a Lexus 430, it was amazingly comfortable. I was ready to drive it so I turned it on and went out of the dealer. I have to say first of all the car is LOUD! nice loud, it sounds like a mustang gt mixed with a g35 on steriods. Even though it was an auto it was really fast. Great response and the tiptronic was much improved. It launched superb at 1800rpm and put me back in my seat. I was honestly amazed because I though it would be a heavy G that was not as fast as the 05-06 sedan. But it is fast really fast, and I think it will give the is350 good competition. I never in a million years would think it would be as fast as it was. Anyway just wanted to share this with you guys, I love the new G

Glad you got to take it for a spin. But I don't get the varying impressions regarding the exhaust note. I've seen several people mention the nice tone, while others have stated it was too quiet.

When I drove the 07, it was silent. Cheryl's 04 had a more defined exhaust note, stock, than the 07 we drove.

I currently have an 03 5AT. Does that mean that the 07 G35 will have OVER 46 more hp than mine, since it is rated under the new SAE ratings? If so, how much more? And I am not talking at the wheels.

Well, they say 307hp to the crank, but the dealer specialists said that as the miles reach into the thousands it will give more hp. He said its been dynoed to give more hp. Im assuming in Japan

Some models will be more powerful than they are rated. One would be the E36 M3. It was only rated at 240hp but most of them I have seen with no mods were making ~225-235whp. That is more like 265-270 crank.
