Man, I have waited for the last year for someone to wreck my Jeep, but never happened, Finally gave up and traded for the G
I thought my odds for getting hit would be good since I'm in San Diego, now I fear that it will be more likely now that I have the G, though

You're really lucky you weren't in the car. That looks like it would have hurt.
Good luck with the 07

Your insurance will only go up if you file or someone else file a claim against it. Doesn't matter whose fault it is. From the above story, I would not have involved my insurance at all, the other person's insurance would be settling my bill.

That's not always the case, man. If the person at fault has a crappy insurance company, they will try their best to short change you. If you have a good insurance company they will take care of you and go after the other company for every penny including your deductible, especially in a case like this where it's obvious whose at fault. Now if the other guy had State Farm or Allstate then I would have his insurance pay me.

the ins. will seek payment from the other ins. carrier covering the jackazz. They will eat it but thats what ins. is for...they collect azz load of premium each yr and try to keep claims experience low. They will probably raise the jackazz's premium or drop him altogether.

Thanks. True about not being hurt. cars are replaceable...i'm not.

About the color of the '07. Thats what I was thinking about for the past couple of days. It appears they took my favorite color, Diamond Graphite, out of the equation on the new G. It's been replaced by a much darker gray called platinum graphite (PG). Its about the same color as the QX56's. I'm not sure if I like it or not... I have to see it in person first. Any opinions?

Short and sweet. Yes Alan, very well put indeed...especially when I drive off te lot in my new G. =) Oh, which by the way is absolutely awesome! I sat in one and started it up yesterday. What a difference from my '05 even. The interior was beautiful, exhaust sounded more like a coupe now, and everything just seemed a lot tighter. Oh, and one thing I thought was really cool was the electronic adjustability of the driver seat side bolsters. Cant wait to drive one!

Sounds like they have been reading these forums about everyone changing out the exhaust to get a more coupe like sound.

No kidding...maybe now it's a TRUE sport sedan. Though, I recall reading from someone who drove the '07 said the exhaust note on their '05/06 is better than the '07? (hard to believe).
