Battle with Rattle over?

After 6 months and 10500+ miles. I believe all my rattles problems have been fixed (knock on wood). I have to give Cerritos Infiniti complement for this, I deal with the manager directly and he has been extremely helpful, contacting Nissan engineer to come down and look at my car. For those that are having rattles problems, I say hang in there. I took my car to the dealer almost every other week.

Re: Battle with Rattle over?

I'm in the middle of my rattle problems. Have had it at the dealers twice for a cracking noise above the driver's door. They pulled off the headliner and pried apart some metal that was rubbing against each other but it has come back now. I'm new to this forum and have learned that rattles are common and also heard that there are defective spot welds that caused my problem. I have also developed a buzz in the steering column/steering wheel hub, a snapping sound at the base of the windshield and some minor rattles in both front doors. I love this car and otherwise gives me world class performance and comfort. The noises are a minor distraction but keeps me from totally enjoying this car. I will be bringing it back to the dealer...wish me luck!

Re: Battle with Rattle over?

I have found that same noise with my AT G35. And I found what it is. The plastic that lays on top of the windshield at the engine bay... it has a felt liner under it to insulate the glass and keep from scatching it. That plastic piece moves up and down - I guess to flex as the car flexes. If you move that piece up and down you can duplicate the noise. What's the fix? Don't know - need to call my dealer.

Take this into your local dealer. This should help resolve your front door rattle issues.

GOOD LUCK! :-)

Re: Battle with Rattle over?

Just my my G back from Peninsula Infiniti in Redwood City, CA and they fixed my rattles. Turned out to be a different cause this time. The window regulator had to be adjusted since the window was not seating in the upper window frame properly. The first time they pried rubbing metal apart under the headliner, the second time they replaced the window regulator and now this new fix. The dealer has been great and never made me feel like I was complaining too much. They also repaired the crack at the base of the windshield by following the TSB. It does pay to keep working with the dealer and now I am totally enjoying this great car!

Glad to hear Cerritos came through for you. That is likely where I'll take mine for service. I have door and rear shelf rattles and the drifting-to-the-right syndrome. Mind emailin' me the manager's name?
