Is anyone seeing a high idle by high I mean consistently over the spec of 650 rpm.

Mine idles consistently at 700 and seldom drops rather it typically will raise to about 710 maybe 720.

 

Forgot to mention...I've been experiencing the pinging intermittently at low rpms.

Hey BTB, I am scheduled for service on Tuesday. When I spoke to my SA he mentioned the vvt sensor briefly. This dealer that i go to is very on top of things and expect good treatment but I am confident this problem lies in the brains of this beast and I am not very hopeful that they will be able to move Nissan for the update we think is needed to address this matter.

Have you taken your car back to the tuner shop for the fix yet?

 

No, I haven't done this yet... I'm thinking of not doing it since my sedan has pretty much stopped pinging. Well it still pings, but it does it the way all the other rev-up VQs do.. initially and then goes away for the rest of the time (computer adjustment). Yeah, before my car would ping all the time, but now it seems okay.

 

Good to hear it is within tolerable limits again.

14. Gspott- occassionally @ low rpm & occassionally @ high rpm, under throttle . But put in 100 octane race gas @ California Speedway & it was gone.!! What a boost in performance We need better gas here in So.Cal.

15. dirrtybear - Started happening after 32K miles and when the temps dropped. Only happens when engine is cold. Goes away after engine is fully warmed up. Pings between shifts (clutch depressed), and when I let off the gas. Ping goes away when I step on the gas, but occasionally pings again, even when I'm on the gas.

 

12. Joneseyo- 07 6mt coupe pings upon take off and at low speed acceleration.
