350z Suspension Questions

1. What's the best place to buy 350z shocks/springs for my Sedan?

2. Are they a direct fit w/ no modification required?

3. Has anybody tried just using the Z springs and keeping the non-sport Sedan Shocks?? (maybe not a good idea?)

4. Pics if anyone has them, already saw a couple in the sticky.

Much Thanks,

Nate

Look on my350z.com in their classifieds. Most guys swap out their shocks for aftermarket and sell the stock.

They are a direct fit.

I heard its a bad idea to use stock shocks, I think you'll end up blowing them out.

You can pick up a full set of OEM springs and shocks on my350z.com for $150-200. They are a direct bolt on.

Also how do they compare to grabbing a set of Koni Yellows and Tein H Techs for example?? H Tech is a similar drop. Car still rides good w/ the Z setup i'm sure.

the koni yellows and htechs are going to be a more refined ride. The z setup however, is much easier on the wallet while still accomplishing the desired wants/needs.

the unrevised has the same spring rates as the sport suspension. The revised (04.5 and later) have a stiffer spring rate.

IF you have a sport suspension on your G35 Sedan you may use the stock sport shocks with unrevised 350z springs. If you use revised springs than you will need to use aftermarket springs.

I am getting ready to install 350z springs in front and coupe springs in the rear on my G35 sedan soon.

What about the track pack 350z Springs? (from an 03) are they the same? or ok to use on a G35 Sedan?

Here is my reply to a PM on the subject: (I found it fitting)

The 350Z springs will lower your sedan ~3/4" which works very well as a mild drop. If you see pics of my car, it’s lowered 1.3" front and 1.2" rear on 20" wheels so that may give you a little more idea of where you will be. There are also lots of pics of the 350Z springs on members cars if you look around.

The only difference between the old and new 350Z springs is the rear springs are stiffer on the newer springs. Either way I would recommend getting new struts since you do not have the oem sport struts. The unrevised (old) 350Z springs go well with the sport struts but not the non-sport. The Tokico D-Spec adjustable struts are a great product in a good price range. Ebay is the best place to find them ~$500. If you want to be able to adjust the rears easily get the extension for the rears (~$30).

Also $150-200 is too much, most of them go for ~$80-100 on here.

Any of the 350Z springs will work but you need to make sure of the drop first.

Change your struts regardless of what springs you go with. It's worth it if you don't have the sport ones and even if you do in most cases.

the h techs i have were to drop ~1.4 front/ 0.7 rear http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TEIN-...QQcmdZViewItem ended up with an overall ~1 inch drop that got rid of the rear "sagging" and evened the wheel wells out to my liking...im getting nismo s-tune shocks installed next week so we'll se what the outcome of that will be

Has anyone ever put Z springs in the front only? Looking at pic with Z springs all around or Z spring(F) and coupe springs(R) combo, the car still look lifted in the front. Putting the z springs in front only will give the car a more aggressive stance.

How can you tell if the springs are unrevised or revised?
