Also check out my gas gauge. I filled up with 18.7 gallons right after this, 306 miles on the tripmeter... that equals 16.36 MPG. I guess my foot has been too heavy of late. My wife's 3 ton Sequoia gets 16.5MPG with its 4.7L V8.

95% city miles. I'm going to try to granny the G for the next week or so to see if the poor gas mileage is due to the brick I have against the gas pedal...

Yeah it's 20 gallons but I have never been able to put close to that in it. Even when I drove 75 miles after the gas light came on it still only took just over 17 gallons.

Worst gas milage I got was around 16.5.... but that was hardcore CITY driving (bumper to bumper all day, never exceed 2nd gear) Best was around 89mpg going down Mt. Palomar in San Diego (was going pretty fast, too), but I suppose that doesn't really count. Best long distance highway milage for me was around 28.5mpg between NYC and Boston. I noticed the Motordyne plenum spacer and Z-Tube helped with gas milage as well as not filling up the gas tank more than 60% all the time.

The secret is to drive with the low fuel light on for around 50 miles till the needle drops to the top of the letter E. I have put in a tad more than 18 gallons on several occasions.

Early on when I got the G in 2003, I had forgotten that the fuel light was on, then went ahead took care of several Saturday morning chores. On my way home I had to make a u-turn at a traffic signal and the G started to buck a little.... of course I was too low on gas.

Got the G to take 19.6 gallons... 420 miles on the tripmeter. Average of 21.4MPG... 80% highway miles.
