Exactly, Fastfwd. I asked him how long he had been w/ Infinity. The man was in his mid 50's and had been there just 18 months. <shrug>

This is a bit much for me, but is a great example of what I'd really like:

Infiniti-G35-Sport-Sedan-Clean-6sp-ONLY-21k-Navigation-Sprt-Pkg-New-Tires

manual + nav is so rare. Would prefer a darker color, but silver is good for FL.

I can't do anything for a couple weeks anyways.

The few manual sedans I've found have very low mileage. Probably the manual is the fun car and the person has an auto as a daily driver.

Dean, it really looks good. I have one question, though. The CARFAX shows it registered as a personal vehicle. Only one owner shown, but the auction listed it as a Manufacturer`s vehicle. How is this possible? Could be a typo, or just admin sloppiness, or could it be a "Buy-back"? I think I would want that cleared up before I bought it. If there is a reasonable explanation and the car checks out, looks like a great ride, which you will enjoy for years! Good luck!

Dean,

I don't really understand why you are looking so hard for a used car. You said that you have a trade worth 17 to 19K. Maybe 20 or 21 in private sale. You also said that you want to pay around or below 400 per month.

By my math, (I'm an accountant so my math is pretty good), you can easily swing that on a NEW car. I just bought a 2006 sedan, loaded with premium, aero, and nav packages. The price was just under 34K. I had a 12.5K trade so that left me with a payment of $460. Your additional 6-8K in trade in will reduce that payment to somewhere around 300 - 340 per month.

If you can still find an 06, you'll probably get an AMAZING deal since the 2007's are starting to come out. If not, a you're sure to find EXACTLY what you want in a 2007. Get whatever colors, options, and styles you want.

Whatever you do, GET A MANUAL. It's friggen awesome

Ghaleon,

I'd just break even on the private sale. I owe $21k. So, I'd start at zero. I figured since I'd have to refinance $21k I wanted to see what else I could get with limited/no out of pocket.

Something popped up last night that will cost $2300, so there went any down payment for a little while.

It's not like I have to get a different car. It was if the financials worked out for me. Perhaps I should just wait a while. Yeah- a stick would be fun again.

For me the goal is to have an easier car buy at each new car. I loaned a sunfire and then bought it. When it was all paid for I got a used A4 and it's now paid for. The G35X will also be bought used(probably 2005) but with a sizeable cash down from the A4 trade-in.

Sure a brand new 2007 G35X would be more fun than a 2005... but not as fun as knowing that I'll have an even bigger cash down on the next car.
