Glad to hear eveyone likes them. I just ordered an 07 g35x. Can't wait to get it. All the options too. Can't wait to see what the aftermarket will do for superchargers etc. This is my first post but once I get the car I'm sure many will follow. I've got alot to learn as I am use to putting all my efforts into my 05 f-350 diesel. Hmmmm. I wonder which will be faster. Can't wait.

i being hearing about ppl complaing about the interior of the G, personally when i saw it, it wasn't as bad as i thought it would, what's up with ppl talking trash about G's interior? i kinda like it, simple and clear. don't like cars with hundreds of push bottons on the center console, just more distraction to the drivers.
Having owned both cars, I went nuts on this post. Definitely go with the G35x, hands down. I actually traded in my '06 TL after only three months (that car is a POS) for the G35x (long story).
The G35x is by far the sportier of the two. It actually feels sporty to drive where the TL feels like you're steering a boat. I also like the way the G suspension makes you feel like you have really good control over the car, the TL suspension is nothing special. In the G you actually hear the engine/exhaust, the TL is almost silent (to me this is a plus for the G, but comes down to what you prefer).
Looks-wise I think the G35 has a lot more class whereas the TL is sportier. Everyone thinks the G looks more expensive than the TL.
The interior in the TL does blow away the G's in terms of looks and quality. Plus there is more room in the TL back seats. The G's interior is by no means bad though, it's basic with less buttons but very tasteful. I think the leather in the G is nicer and more durable. My biggest problem with the TL was the number of rattles inside. It was unbelievable how many different parts were squeaking, rattling, and buzzing in a $36k car. It completely drove me nuts and was one of the big reasons I got rid of it. I barely hear anything in the G ever rattle. (TL is built in US, G in Japan: i think this has a lot to do with it).
Gas mileage in the G35x has averaged 20-21mpg. The TL (I had the 6spd MT) used to average 22-23, although on long highway trips it was able to get up to 26mpg, something I haven't seen from the G35.
And of course, the torque steer in the TL is just plain ridiculous. You have to be ready for it when you jam on the gas unless you want to end up all over the road. Not to mention if you get snow where you live the G35x will go anywhere while the TL sits there and spins its wheels.

I was just told there is an X at VRT right now getting a mild build and the big JWT TT kit, not the standard one the big turbo one! They are estimating ~500awd hp. Ohhhhh snap!

I have an 06 X that I bought new. It has 3800 miles on it right now, and I'm very happy with it.
I test drove the Acura TL and RDX, Audi A4, and Lexus GS300.
It came down to the G35X and Lexus. The Lexus had a gorgeous interior, but the power and handling just couldn't compare. I also wasn't impressed that Lexus only made the GS300 for one year with the new body style, and changed the engine and badge to GS350 for 2007.
So ultimately I chose the x over a $47K car, so that should tell you how impressed I was.
I also had a chance to drive it in 6 inches of snow, and it did extremely well. On my first tank of gas with about 90% highway driving I got 24.51 mpg. which is fantastic considering it wasn't broken in. However, it hasn't really went up yet and is still between 24 and 25 on the highway. I always run premium.

A Huge Suprise: G35x over TL! :-)
I also drove the TL and for me it came down to having it "all", and while the TL has decent power and better gas milage, I had to go with the G35x (04, Blk/Blk, Premium Pkg, XM Sat Radio). If your main criteria is gas mileage over performance, an Accord, or maybe a TSX would work. If snow is a big issue, then an Audi A4 or A6 or a Suburu Legacy might work. But if you want it ALL: Great performance, excellent handling, good all-weather traction and OK gas mileage (16-22 mpg), then there is no better choice then G35x.
I would agree the premium package is absolutely worth it, and while the Bose system is not the greatest, it does a decent job for a stock radio, and it certainly helps having XM integrated.
