Some feedback on cope midpipe , plz...

Hey guys, I always wanted to put that coupe midpipe in my 03 g35 but never had the chance or time to buy it. Those of you who have them on, how do you guys like it? how is overall performance? Any suggestions where I can get a midpipe in so-cal and how much should it run me?

The coupe middy is always a good route to go with the sedan if you dont want a full exhaust. You'll lose a good 30 lbs over the hefty sedan midpipe. Look in the classifieds. I got mine for $100

It is an awesome upgrade...sounds way better. I do get some droning...but after a few months, I barely notice it anymore. The sound is really night and day...its not loud...just sounds nice.

Is it a straight swap or is an extension needed?

its not really that close to the coupe exhaust which is pretty sick
but at WOT it sounds beautiful, it sounds more deeper and sounds more powerful

Straight swap...there may be some minor bending of the heat shield underneath and also the drive shaft support may need to be removed..I have an 03.5 and didn't have the drive shaft support for some reason. I didn't see it when I looked under and the tech said there was nothing in the way.

Shouldn't cost you more than $40 to get it installed...or you can do it yourself. I just don't feel comfortable getting underneath a 3500lb car (or any car for that matter).

It sounds better at idle, better at mid-throttle, and better at wide open throttle.
Weighs about half of what sedan mid weighs.Easy to put on(direct replacement).
In fact the hardest part is taking off the sedan mid.If your are not going to do a full exhaust replacement, this is the way to go.

Have one and love mine.

By the way - there are no performance gains w/ this mod other than shaving off some extra weight.

sorry to thread jack . so to bring my 03 sedan closer to the coupe exhaust note the simpliest way is to just replace the stock midpipe with a coupe's midpipe? any year coupe is fine? just wondering.

Not really true. Your car will sound nothing like the coupe after putting it on .....will it sound deeper & give you some burble...yes. Will you sound more like the coupe? Not to me IMO.
