Can anyone tell me what an "e cutout" is? Never heard of it? what is it? What does it do? what does it look like?

Thanks

They cut out the resonator and put in a pipe with an electronic valve that branches off of the pipe. The valve can open and close at the push of a button. When closed the exhaust functions normally and sounds stock, while open it delete's the muffler from the car so you're just running cats and piping, no muffler. It gives the car a loud deep growl. Hero has pics of his in his FS thread.

That's SICK! Must get some serious drone with the cutout turned off....and with the cutout activated, must me loud as a ****!!! Doesn't fit the "G" image IMO.

Is the droning that a few people are talking about occur with the stock muffler in place or an aftermarket one?

I have a slight drone from 1700 to 2000 RPM with the coupe midpipe and stock muffler.

ditto on the drone, you can isolate some of it w/ sound dampening. in my case, i also think it has has something to do w/ heat. there is typically no drone in the morning, and it just develops as the day goes on, even more noticeable in hot weather 92+

Sorta reviving this since no one seems to discuss the diameter...

Do the coupe and sedan share the same inner diameter exhaust tubing? If so, that would basically say that the midpipe offers no increase (or decrease) in power. What is it that makes the coupe midpipe lighter, is the resonator really THAT much smaller?

I think I read somewhere that the piping in the Sedan actually gets smaller where the briefcase is and then opens back up afterwards.

Easy-peasy.... love it - one of the best mods by far! drops a quick 30-40lbs in weight, and sounds awesome!

and... here are some sound clips (but note: I have the stillen intake in addition to the mid-pipe - oh, and when I recorded that, I also had the HKS muffler - which I have since taken off. Went back to stock muffler).

I saw and listened to the clips you had linked. I was curious if you had made one since you removed the hks muffler. Just wanting to see if I could hear the impact the coupe midpipe would have on the stock muffler.
