Bypassing stock Navi to watch dvd's

How is it possible/what can I buy to bypass my stock navi so that I can watch dvds?

I don't think it's possible....

I'm sure if it were possible there would be a sticky at the top of the audio/video forum giving details and options on how to make it work.
