Yea, I called the dealer today and they said its out of warranty as of 10-08-06 and they said it would be about 300 for them to put it in.

Can someone show me the DIY threads i searched and found nothing.

Did you ever find a replacement other than the dealer?

Maybe refer to the FSM link I provided earlier in this thread?

I had my windows tinted a few days ago and I told the guy to remove the 3rd brake light assembly completely and leave it out. It apparently just clips in there.

I'm looking to a cap to replace the 3rd brake light to fill the void. I can sell you mine if you're interested

If it's really $300 to fix, I just wouldn't fix it. That's crazy.

I think I just owned myself last weekend:
1) I removed the back seats and various things to get to the rear tray.
2) Ends up if you remove the clips in the trunk, there's an access hole to the brake light. I think if you remove the glued padding, you can unscrew the light from the holder, unclip the connector and remove it with the tray untouched. ugh!
3) Ends up my brake light suddenly started working again! So in reality, I didn't have to any of this crap! Ugh!

Where did you get your replacement light from? Is it the 2 replacement led light or the normal ones?

I got it from someone that put a spoiler on their car. I believe it was a coupe. And it's the oem 5 led type, not the replacement 3 led type.

on my coupe service manual it says you have to disassemble everything on the rear parcel shelf.

what a load of doodoo - the light just pulls backward and up and out...

just get your whole rear window tinted like me and dont care about 3rd brake light. who care you, seems like cops dont even notice it. Never got any trouble for having 3rd brake light out.
