Unpainted lowers are easier for cleaning, but then again, my car is black, so the color doesn't clash as bad. The only doggy door on my car is the beer ditch hatch in the back seat!

You save some money, develop your bodywork skills, and get a non-doggydoor trunklid in the process.

^WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT LOL

So, if my 2003 has no doggy door, does that mean its a 2003.5?

I like my doggy door just fine, but if there was a cheap readily available 03.5+ trunk in DP I would probably go for it, of course then you need an interior trunk release button or you can just go off the KEYFOB.

I went Aero front bumper and painted my lowers, that was a much more pressing issue for me.

The doggy door doesn't look unpleasing to me, the only thing that bothers me about it is it dates the car. Definitely not enough motivation to put a lot of time and money into changing it.

Yes if you have an 03 with no doggy door it is an 03.5 you can also check the manufacturing date on your doorjam, the 2003's were manufactured in OCT 2002, the 2003.5 sometime in the first half of 2003 you can search for more info on this.
