HELP! PLEASE READ

I've been ripped off by someone on ebay in the amount of $58.00 for the "Skyline" badging for the rear trunk lid. His email address is arcticbluetyper@ hotmail.com. He states that he has sent it, however, each tracking # he gives says that it was delivered in California. I live in Arizona. My ebay account did give him a "Confirmed" address as to where I lived. I feel that I am getting the run around. Please help!

Thanks!! I didn't call Ebay but I did call Paypal. Paypal walked me through the complaint process and they said that it sounds very fishy. They even helped me by walking me through it. They said that they will investigate and get me my money back! Yippie.

If you paid through paypal using a credit card call your credit card and they will freeze the charge and investigate if there is no evidence that he shiped it to your address you won;t have to pay the charge.

Re: HELP! PLEASE READ

Funny thing! After doing all of this and even with the idiot giving me the wrong tracking numbers, I checked the mail, and to my surprise, it was in my mail box. I'm appreciative that the product made it to me, but wouldn't you start to doubt as well if the person gave you 2 wrong tracking numbers and then charged you $11.50 to ship when the envelope it came in shows that it only cost around $3.00?
Thanks for all the replies and hopefully in the future, I can return the favor to the web forum. Thanks again.

Jon

Postage was only $3.00. There's also the box and packing material to consider. But still, $11.50 was a rip off.

Ebay Issues

Ebay is a cash machine. It has no feelings, and could care less if you get ripped off.

You must pay very close attention to the "Feedback" and make sure you stay away from folks with anything more than minimal negative feedback. I've made more than 100 purchases and a few sales there, and I've never been ripped off; but I've had a few issues. On a couple of occasions, I was top bidder on items, and the sellers refused to sell. Complaints to Ebay got me nowhere. One time, I neglected to look at the seller's feedback, and it showed a pattern of not delivering goods if the price wasn't high enough...eBay did nothing to stop this.

Another thing to watch out is for identity theft folks cloning eBay pages and asking for personal information. eBay will NEVER ask for personal information by sending you an email, so report this type of activity to eBay's security department. This has happened to me 3 times.

Paypay is also problemmatic for some people....stories of frozen assets, and failure to get money back are common. Do a Google search on Paypal problems, and it will scare you a lot. That said, I've used it many, many times without the slightest hitch.

Overall, a lot depends on what you are buying. The "profile" of your typical seller for a given product makes a big difference. I have also made lots of eBay purchases from their European sites (like eBay.de) , and purchases from Asia, England, New Zealand, Australia, Holand, Germany, France and Switzerland, and had good success there as well.
