better preformance after gas fill-up

I can see a noticeable difference in the preformance of my G after getting a full tank of gas. (ie faster acceleration, better throttle response). Is this normal? I assume this could be due to increased full pressure. But I'd like to have the same preformance throughout a tank of gas.

funny you said that, my 10 year old once say, 'Dad, you scare me the way you drive everytime you filled up the gas tank', I did notice the difference but did not link to a full tank of gas. do you think it's the weight to rear wheels, the weight press the wheels down and give them more traction?

I've noticed this with my last two cars as well and they were FWDs... I chalked it up to wishful thinking.

Re: better preformance after gas fill-up

One thing I have noticed about Nissan's OBDII ECU is that it seems to make those "learning" changes at a fillup of gas. This is most noticeable in the couple of tanks right after a mod to the engine, but is there each time. I have never noticed it before on other cars, except my Nissan OBDII's (my altima and a friends Max (2k2)

I'd imagine performance at handling twisty curves would still be better on a 1/4 tank.. with 100lbs less liquid sloshing around near the rear axle.

Re: better preformance after gas fill-up

I thought I was the only one that felt a difference after a fill up. I have felt that for the past coupe of years in my '01 Maxima 5sp. So, if it's not the pressure from a full tank, and it's not the ECU re-learning (5-sp), and it can't be wieght on my back wheels which are a disadvantage to me.......what can it be? It must be the butt dyno making these claims. Hmmmmm
