Tire Sensor
I had my tire pressure sensor go off last week. So I checked all my pressure in my tires and they were low 3psi, so I filled them up. Today my pressure sensor has gone off again. I cannot believe that they are low again. however, here in VA we went from cold weather back to in the 70's this week. Can this be the cause and now I have to let air out?? Will the sensor go off if you have to much tire pressure??
I was trying some different pressures yesterday trying improve ride quality. I left all four at 28 PSA to try for a day or two. This morning I had a TPS light. ~60F degrees yesterday, ~40F this am. Light stayed on for 41 mile drive. Can't imagine 28 PSI is too low. Will report back once I pump 'em back up.
Yes, temp change like that can make your tires go low within a couple days.
I drive from Phoenix to Prescott (+/-30 degrees or more) often and need to add air from time to time.

i had mine go off the other day after we were glowing in a warm spell of 50-60 degrees and then it dropped to 15
it was the first time i heard the warning since only having the car a month
the warning went off within a block of pulling out of the driveway
i added 2 lbs of air and the warning light went off a few blocks later
its below zero now with wind chill and am wishing it was warmer!

I checked my tire pressure when I got home and found that three tires had 40psi and the other had 35psi. So I brought all my tires pressure down to 35psi. I might have to had some more air tomorrow since the tires were warm. If I keep having problems than I may have a bad sensor.

BTW, I checked all four again with a digital guage and found three at 27 and one at 26.5. I used a stick-guage to set them at 28, so I guess it was off a bit. I suppose the 26.5 tire set off the sensor. I brought them all back up to 30 with the digital guage and the light went out. Didn't seem to make a big difference in ride quality anyway. Turanza's are crap. :thumbdown

I went and put air in my tires this morning and the sensor went off. I had to put 37psi in them. So I will see if it comes back on when the temp drops from 67 degrees to 40 degrees this weekend.
