New member with questions...

Just purchased an '06 AWD with premium pkg and love it. Got rid of a Saab convertible that was a lot of fun in the summer but not much fun in the snow and ice.

A couple of questions:

- Is it possible to get the doors to lock automatically when the car is put in Drive? Is this something that the dealer can program?

- The car came without satellite radio. I just ordered the kit from EverythingG35. The install instructions on their site look relatively painless. Just wanted to know if any of you have done the install and how long it took.

- Today as I'm driving to work, a truck kicked a rock up into my windshield. Less then 500 miles on the car and already a chip and spider on the glass. I called my insurance company and they said that if the total size of the damage is smaller then a dollar bill, they will send someone (Safelite Auto Glass) out to repair it. Have any of you had glass repaired? I've only had it replaced and just want to make sure the if it is repaired, that it will look as good as new.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think you can get the doors to lock automatically. Not 100% sure but I think this only seems to be a feature on American cars because I've never seen it on any of the Japanese cars I've had.

I did my sat install a few weeks ago, it was relatively painless, only took an hour or so. If you search around the site you will come across a couple different sat installs, but I ended up using the instructions. Yes, I read them to...

First off, welcome to the family.

I think the dealer can program the locks. There is a list of those options over in the DIY/FYI section.

If I had a crack like that I would just make it a little bigger so the insurance gave me a new windshield. A chip is one thing but if it is cracked I would not put up with that.

My Wife's Camry locks all the doors when she puts it into gear. I Hate when that happens.

no buit-in functionality for the door locking

sat radio in very easy to install, just follow the directions

let the crack get bigger and have it replaced, the repair will probably only be temporary

Congratulations on your car! And I'm sorry about your windshield-that's a drag.

KP does make this module and several others, including one to roll up the windows. Their address is: http://kptechnologies.com/

Good luck!
