Fuel Filler Hose Recall - Anyone Experience Consequences After the Fix?
I'm considering taking my car into the dealership to have them perform the fix for the "fuel filler hose replacement voluntary recall campaign." I took a look at the procedure on Alldata.com and it's quite a lengthy process which involves taking apart the whole rear end, including dropping the rear suspension. I'm a little nervous about this (i.e. will they put everything back the way it's supposed to be). Has anyone experienced any bad consequences after this procedure?

I had it done and the car has never gotten a full tank after(seconf fuel related recall). I can only get a mark over 3/4. The dealer said it must be the pumps...try a new station or different gas. I asked why don't they look to see what the issue is...slience. I had it in about 4 months ago for a recall on filler neck and I brought up the gas issue again....This time it was oh lets us look at that we have seen a few with this issue but it won't be covered under warr you have too many miles. GEE THANKS!! I you have any issues go back ASAP.
Knock on wood I have not had any problems. I think if there were significant issues, you would hear more people Biching

Thanks all of the responses. I've got some warranty issues that might need attention before the fuel hose issue, so I may postpone that until later.
Cashio - Thanks for the info regarding the axle TSB.

Good question; Thought about this for a while ...I'm not doing it.
4 hour operation for possible problem prevention. Possible -- statistically small chance of having an issue, so if you have tolerance for a bit of risk, I wouldnt even think about it. ( Odds are greater that an issue arises from the "repair" that is more serious than the one you came in for ...)
Infiniti just has to legally cover their butt in case there is an issue, that's why they send you a notice. Many manufacturers wouldnt even bother and handle this case by case --- Infiniti is pretty good about that; they did the same with brakes (extended the warranty).

I wonder how many of the fuel filler hoses have actually cracked.
