I take it you think GEE PASTA is wrong too. Just inserting INFO here.

The fluidamper weight is about the same as the stock damper and is of first class design. I ran the same design in my small and big block chevy drag engine. I remember the rod and main bearing I pulled out of engines that ran a bad harmonic balancer. I never broke a crankshaft in the chevy engines twisting over 9400rpms with the dampers in place. The dampers did show a major incress in HP at higher RPMS on engine dynos. I did always run a heavy flywheel in my strip cars, because I needed drivabilty. For my G35, I would pefer more flywheel mass and putting UD pullies on went the wronge way.

I don't believe I said anything about the topic at hand like your imagination leads you to believe. As usual you want to stir up crap.

I see. And making some nonsense comment about .org / .com is really the riveting information we were all waiting for.

The spacer is one of the best gains/$ mods you can do.

As for cams, they do help but the gains/$ are quite low. Most good cams will cost you $1k and the install is not easy.

thanks ttrank

ttrank thanks for the advise. Your one person I certainly will listen to! your ride is sweet and has been my aspiration for my car for awhile. Is it possible to get gears for the G? and for what I have the 03 4dr g what would be the best spacer in your opinion?

There is no clear instance of a UD pulley causing any damage to any VQ engine ever that I've seen.

Not only that, but an aluminum pulley (even turned from forged billet) is NOT intended to have that kind of torsional load on it EVER! A SC load can be up to 40HP at full boost and RPM. If you want to have a twisted and tweaked pulley fused to your crank, then use it to drive a blower. Good luck trying to ever get it off though.

I would go with the motordyne 5/16" spacer. Intense motorsports has a sale on them right now over in the vendor classifieds.

You can change your rear differential gearing. It is a great mod! Is your car a MT or AT? The AT's have ~3.3 final drive, the MT ~3.5 and on either one you can go up to a 3.9. You may loose your cruise control, some do some don't, it's luck of the draw. You will also rev a little higher on the freeway in your final gear so your mpg will go down ~1-2, most people report 1mpg.

The under pulleys are lighter than stock. Also the altenator pulley is the same size as the stock. The other two pulleys are smaller (crank and AC). I have been told you can feel the difference when you install them. If your engine is NA you can gain 10HP and if your FI you can gain 15HP extra.

How much do you loose in top end?? Usually when you increase your gearing you loose top end speed, but gain more bottom end (off-line power).

I've run 23" tall drag radials at the track which effectively geared my auto G35 to a 3.55 ratio. The car was actually slower in the 1/4 mile because of the forced shift into 4th about 200 feet short of the finish. The 1/8 mile is fractionally quicker, but the final 1/8 mile is significantly slower (~.2 seconds).

"Feel" and "does" are too completely different things. The undredrive pullies will indeed make the engine rev quicker in neutral, but on the track and dyno, the gains are very minimal, if any (0-2hp).
