Backrest of drivers seat uncomfortable?
Backrest of drivers seat uncomfortable?
I have test driven a sedan two times, and one thing that keeps bothering me is the shoulder support of the drivers seat. Both lateral and lumbar support are good for a sedan, but the shoulder area felt very uncomfortable to me. In both test drives, I felt as if the seat was pushing my shoulder blades forward, rather than letting my shoulders fall back into a resting position in the seat. I played around with lumbar support adjustments, but it did not help.
It is interesting to note that I felt totally comfortable in the coupe's seats. All-around support (including shoulders) was great. It is just the sedan's seat that bugs me - and I need a sedan, not a coupe (:-. Does anyone else have this problem with the sedan's seat?

Re: Backrest of drivers seat uncomfortable?
The only complaint I have on the sedan driver seat is the headrest doesn't seem to have a position that supports my head worth a darn. I'm 6'0 about 170lbs, so I'm probably somewhere around the target size for the "average" consumer, but somehow I can't find a good setting on the headrest. Other than that, the seat is comfortable for me.
It should be noted that some heavier/taller people have complained that the seat controls are positioned in an uncomfortable spot.

Re: Backrest of drivers seat uncomfortable?
No discomfort in the shoulder area, maybe it's how you have the seat adjusted! The headrests are "active headrests" so, they move forward on an impact, not sure how that works, but that's what the salesman told me!

Re: Backrest of drivers seat uncomfortable?
when you're struck from the rear, your body will naturally be thrown into the seat. The Active Headrest will move forward to catch your head and neck while you're being thrown back during the collision.

Re: Backrest of drivers seat uncomfortable?
I'm 5'8" at average height for Asian and I can't find a comfort zone for the driver seat head rest myself. its setting too high to me. Hmmm, maybe its just a flaw in design. Time for RECARO.
