215/55/17 Tire Help!

I'm looking to buy new tires for my g35 sedan. My current tires are 215/55/17. I'll be buying new tires in the next 1-2 months and I'm trying to find out what tires would be good ones to get. I'm living in the Houston, TX area so I don't ever receive any harsh winter weather. Does anyone have any tire brand recommendations? I'd like to keep this under $500. Thanks!

I use Falken ZE512 all seasons. I had 215/55 before, but switched to 235/45. I love em! Definetly felt a handling difference.

For $92 ea., the 225/50-17 Kumho's are pretty highly rated and they look pretty good too. Going much wider increases your rolling resistance and can affect fuel mileage if you care about that.

I would go to a 225/50 or 235/45.

When my OEM rubber wore out in 32K miles, I got Falken Ziex 512 in 225//55/17... great looking tire with solid performance. And the size was perfect for the rim. They lasted another 16K miles but were a little skittish once I got to the wear bars.

Next up were the Kumho Ecsta KH11 in 235/50/17... awesome grip but I thought the 235 width looked a little too wdie for the 7" rims. I liked the 225/55/17 size better. Good for 15K miles.

Currently running 225/55/17 Bridgestone Turanzas LS-Vs... I definitely prefer the 225/55 look.

Just my $0.02...

Yoko YK520

I use Yokohamy YK520 in SoCal: size 225/55VR17 on stock rims. Tires.com (America's Tire) have them in 215/55VR17 as well. They work very well in dry, wet and (according to reviews on tires.com) snow. 60K mile warranty and pretty queit too. If you skip road hazard warranty you might be able to get 4 of them for less than $500.
