!HELP! Need Advice

well i have a thread in the coupe forum...my sisters coupes head gasket blew!...what could cause this at such a low mileage?...the mechanic is asking around 1200 to get it fixed..is that reasonable?

What year and whats "low mileage" Most of the time head gaskets on non FI
cars is usually due to over heating, but does seem rare...

the year is 2003...and around 90 000...the other night i was driving it and was just up the street...when the navi showed the car was overheating...so drove right back home and parked it...and then got it to my mechanic..where he told me its the gasket

Headgasket jobs run about $1k so it sounds right. And yes, the overheating is what caused it. Make sure your mechanic fixes what caused the overheating. Bad radiator, debris blocking the radiator, tear in the coolant hose, etc are all common reasons for overheating.

totally sucks! 3/4 of the cost is labor to get to your head gasket and replace it...samething happened in my pontiac GTP thast when i decided to get my G!
